They might have graduated, but that doesn’t mean their time at Alfea is over. This school year, Faragonda invites the Winx to teach its students. Each of them receives a key to the Hall of Enchantments. It functions as a museum of the Magic Dimension. In there, the headmistress tells them about the powers they can gain above Enchantix. In particular, she tells them about Believix – a power with which they can heal people and touch their hearts.
Bloom wanders the Hall and unveils a covered portrait of the Wizards of the Black Circle. She asks Faragonda about them, but the headmistress avoids the question. After going through their first lecture, and dealing with its aftermath, the first day of school gets interrupted by the wizards from the picture. They attempt to capture Bloom, thinking she’s the last Earth fairy. Once that’s proven wrong, they leave Alfea and resume their hunt elsewhere.
With the Wizards at large, Faragonda decides to tell the Winx who they are. She tells them that Earth’s energy was once entrusted to fairies, who dispensed it through air, water, earth, and fire. The Wizards of the Black Circle wanted to rule nature’s elements and drain the magic from the terrestrial fairies. They succeeded and the magic on Earth disappeared.
The Tree of Life at Pixie Village contains branches that each represent a different planet. In turn, each leaf on the branch represents a fairy on that planet. By analysing the single leaf on the Earth’s branch, Flora is able to know the last terrestrial fairy lives in Gardenia. For that reason, the Winx leave Alfea and go to Earth. Unbeknownst to them, and upon Faragonda’s request, their boyfriends follow them for protection.
After living with Bloom’s adoptive parents for a while, the girls decide to find a job to be able to afford their own place. However, every job they get hired for ends disastrously. Eventually, they get hired sorting stock for a toy store. Flora ends up bringing a few flawed stuffed animals to life, which gives them the idea to open “Love & Pet”, their own fairy pet store. There’s also an apartment above the store, which the Winx live in.
The shop is empty on opening day so Tecna decides to make a website for it. On the website people can download the pets and have them appear next to them, no matter where they are. Soon, the shop becomes a hit, along with the pets that the Winx are selling and the training, grooming, and vet services they’re offering. At the same time, the Specialists arrive on Earth and try to fit in. Unsuccessfully at first.
Bloom’s ex-fiance, Andy, invites the Winx to a show that his band is putting on at the Frutti Music Bar. While there, the girls feel the magical energy of the last Earth fairy. So do the Wizards of the Black Circle. A fight between them breaks out and the Specialists step in. The potential fairy they saw turned out to be a human. After that, the Winx and their boyfriends argue, because the Winx feel that they don’t trust them enough to let them handle the mission on their own.
Love & Pet allows only one fairy pet per person. Someone has been breaking that rule by downloading multiple pets under different names. This makes the Winx suspicious and they set out to investigate. Their search leads them to Roxy, an animal lover who is also the last fairy on Earth.
When confronted with the truth about her fairy nature, Roxy doesn’t believe it. She runs from the Winx and gets attacked by the Wizards. The Winx come to fight them but discover that their enemies are immune to their magic. When faced with the existence of magic, Roxy breaks down in tears and rejects it. Once she acknowledges it and starts believing in fairies, all of the Winx get Believix powers at the same time. After that, their powers begin affecting the Wizards.
While getting to a safe place, away from the battle, Roxy hears the voice of a woman she’s been dreaming about. The voice tells her she’s the fairy of animals and that she should believe in herself like she believed in the Winx fairies. The Specialists join the fight. The Wizards are weakened and outnumbered so they retreat. The Winx and their boyfriends make up after it. The boys also start working at the Frutti Music Bar with Roxy and her father.
Sometime after that, Roxy dreams of the same woman, and when she wakes up, the photos from her album arrange themselves in a sequence. The Winx visit the ranch that’s visible in them and find a magical artifact called “The White Circle”. The Circle is able to weaken the Wizards. For this reason, they want to get their hands on it and destroy it.
Roxy gathers up the courage to tell her father that she’s a fairy. However, once she tries talking to him, it is revealed that one of the Wizards is posing as him. He kidnaps her as he has done to her real father. Her dog, Artu, finds them but gets attacked. The anger at the Wizard who did that makes Roxy transform for the first time. The rest of the Winx, as well as the Specialists, help her fight, and the Wizards retreat.
Throughout the season, the Winx are helping people believe in fairies. This culminates when the Wizards attack the train station in Gardenia. Bloom uses her Believix powers to touch people’s hearts amidst the chaos which helps their belief even more, making the Wizards grow weaker in turn. This causes magic to return to Earth, as evident by the Tree of Life in Pixie Village. Its Earth branch starts blossoming more than it ever has.
By using The White Circle, the Winx travel to Tir Na Nog, the island of the terrestrial fairies. They defeat its guardian and use the Circle to free the fairies. Roxy recognises Queen Morgana as the woman from her dreams. While the queen and her warrior fairies are thankful for the help, they also swear to get their vengeance on the Wizards of the Black Circle for imprisoning them, as well as on the humans who stopped believing in them. The Winx refuse to join them and become their enemies.
The Major Fairy of Nature, Diana, is the first to strike. She makes plants grow in every part of Gardenia, blocking paths, trapping people with their vines, and making them fall asleep with their pollen. Giant spiders also threaten Gardenia’s people. She ends up taking the Specialists hostage. To help them successfully face Diana, Faragonda summons the Ethereal fairies to present the Winx with the Gifts of Destiny. After helping Diana see that some humans truly care about nature and want to protect it, she gives up her thirst for vengeance.
Weakened by The White Circle, the wizards surrender to the Winx, in exchange for safety against Morgana and the other vengeful terrestrial fairies. Sybila, the Grand Fairy of Justice, takes them in until a fair judgment can be passed about their crimes. In the meantime, The Major Fairy of the North, Aurora, tries to make the entire planet freeze. She will only stop if the Winx surrender the Wizards to the terrestrial fairies.
In Aurora’s tower, Bloom faces off against Nebula, while Roxy refuses Morgana’s offer to join her. After Bloom wins the fight, Morgana agrees to judge the Wizards fairly and abandons her plot for revenge. On the day of their judgement, however, the Wizards attempt to destroy the Earth fairies by opening a portal to the abyss and trapping them inside. The Specialists come to help close it. In the end, Nabu uses all his energy to do so. He succeeds but falls into a coma. Aisha attempts to use one of the Gifts of Destiny to wake him up, but the Wizards take it instead and intentionally waste it. Nabu is lost and Aisha is overcome by anger. She joins Nebula and the rest of the terrestrial fairies who are still seeking revenge.
Nebula traps Morgana inside her castle and overtakes her throne. The Winx try to save her while the Fairies of Vengeance go to the Omega Dimension to face the Wizards. It is revealed that only the princess of Tir Na Nog, Morgana’s daughter can free her. Roxy manages to do it and learns of her heritage.
In the Omega Dimension, the Winx and Aisha reconcile and Nebula quits looking for revenge. By uniting all their powers, the fairies manage to trap the Wizards in ice for eternity. Back on Earth, Morgana leaves her throne to return to her family. The spell cast on Roxy’s father, Klaus, is lifted and he remembers her as his wife.
