Bloom– Fairy of the Dragon’s Flame
Bloom is originally the princess of the planet Domino (Or known in the 4kids dub as the planet “Sparks”). She grows up on Earth, in the city of Gardenia, unaware of her true heritage. As a baby, Bloom was adopted by her parents Mike and Vanessa, and her biological parents are Queen Marion (or “Meriam ” in season 2) and King Oritell of Domino. She has a pet bunny named Kiko. Her bonded pixie is Lockette, the minifairy of portals, according to a version of the official Winx Club website from 2009.
As a child, Bloom would spend hours pretending she was a fairy, along with her friend Selina. Her fascination with fantasy didn’t weaken even as she became a teenager. She would draw pictures of fairies to put up on her bedroom walls or stay up late reading about them.
One day, her life suddenly changed. What was supposed to be a relaxing time at the Gardenia park turned into an intense battle between good and evil. That was the day when Bloom witnessed fairy magic in action for the first time, discovering her own powers along the way and meeting her best friend, Princess Stella of Solaria. From then on, they would start attending Alfea College for Fairies together. There, they would meet Flora, Tecna, and Musa. The five girls became the Winx Club shortly after.
The first year at Alfea was quite eventful for Bloom. Not only did she learn to control her powers, but she also was adamant about knowing why she had them, especially since no one had heard of Earth fairies for a long time. It turns out that she is actually the princess of a planet named Domino (AKA Sparks). She was sent to Earth after it was attacked by the ancestral witches who were seeking to gain the power of the Dragon Flame – the power which she possesses. In the 4kids dub, her power is known as the “Dragon Fire”.
During that same year, the witches who call themselves “the Trix” stole Bloom’s newfound magic power. With the help of her friends, she fought to find it within herself again. Even though her home planet was destroyed when she was just a baby, she never gave up on finding her biological parents and learning the truth about where she came from. Despite all odds, she faced demise and gained her Enchantix powers to protect the Magic Dimension, becoming a true fairy. Even though she may get dramatic at times, Bloom is a fighter. She is determined, resilient, and a true leader. When it comes to decision-making, she listens to her emotions. Sometimes, her impulsiveness leads to trouble, but I guess that’s how it is when you are the fairy of the Dragon Flame.
20 years later, Bloom has become a fearless protector of her home planet and the whole Magic Dimension. She is currently engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Prince Sky of Eraklyon, with whom she found love (despite the rocky start of their relationship). The young girl from Earth who had always dreamed of magic, came to be a compassionate, kind, brave, and hot-headed fairy.
